Organize your music

I found my new favorite music application… NetJuke. This thing is amazing. And if you know how to setup apache & php, this thing is a breeze to setup & configure. Point it at your directory of music, it recursively scans & builds a database of all your music. It looks at the tags to extract track names, artist, album & genre listings.

From there, you can reorganize (this takes a bit of time - Snoop Dogg came in as A Capella), but most was correctly organized. Now I can search by artist, genre, anything…creating playlists is so easy. The great thing about this, you can use it as a mp3 server for your home if you have an internal network. A computer in the living room can listen to music off your machine in the den.

NetJuke is not a P2P app and it is not the intention of that application nor my intention by mentioning this software that you should illegally download music. Keep it legal & support music artists. Buy CDs or use iTunes.
