Today's photograph on my photoblog, "Photo-Persistence"

the toughest time of my life

it’s such a turnaround from my previous posting.
things seemed to be going so great.
3 days later, jan 25 2006, the worst day of my life.
i don’t want to reveal details, those who know me know what has happened.
but feel i need to write this for therapy.
my heart is broken. i can’t talk to my hero and inspiration.

live every day to the fullest.
don’t be afraid to tell people you love them.
hug your friends and family every chance you get.
time is so valuable, make every minute count. there are no retakes.

    Blaine,
I was into Platespin yesterday and was talking with John S. I asked about you and he told me what had happened to your Dad. I am so sorry to hear about such a terrible and freak accident. I can imagine that this is devastating to your whole family. I wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about you and am very sorry for your loss.

I hope that you are taking care of yourself and taking it day-by-day.

    Thinking of you…

    Krista

    Hi Blaine,

I’m not sure if this will work from my location, but I managed to track you down via Google. You may not remember me, but I was a base brat with you in Sydney. I just read about your father on the Communications & Electronics Branch website and I was shocked. I want to pass on my condolences to you from my father (Dennis) and I. I hope you, Jillian and your mom are doing well. I know what it’s like to lose a parent. We lost my mother (Emma) to breast cancer around this time last year.

I’m in the Air Force as a telecommunications officer and I’m now stationed in Kingston. I’m currently deployed in Kandahar, Afghanistan and I’m scheduled to return by the end of this month. Perhaps I’ll run into you some day.

Anyway, take care and once again, I’m sorry for your loss.

Your Mom mentioned your site to me, so I thought I would stop by. This has been a time of reflection for all of us. One can tell much about a man by the character of those who surround him; sounds like your dad was in good company. I’m sure you will carry the torch for him.

    Hi Blaine,

You may not remember me,but I too was living on the base in sydney the years you and your family were there.

I was thinking of life back then and figured I would try and look up some friends.

I came across this site, and I just wanted to say how sorry I am for you loss.

I am living in PEI now with my daughter. Hopefully someday we will meet again.

    Take Care and God bless
    Krista Blacquiere
