apple iphone

from Core77…. And remember, this is US prices. Canadian rates are much higher.

AT&T has just announced their iPhone plan rates. So how much will it actually cost you to get an iPhone, including your first month of service? Let’s see: $499 for the 4GB, $599 for the 8GB. Sales tax (for example, 8.375% in New York State). One-time AT&T activation fee of $36.

AT&T iPhone plan rates: 450 minutes, $60 (after taxes more like $72). 900 minutes, $80 (around $96 after taxes). 1,350 minutes, $100 (around $120 after taxes).

So what’s the damage?

4GB with 450: $648.79
4GB with 900: $672.79
4GB with 1,350: $698.79

8GB with 450: $757.17
8GB with 900: $781.17
8GB with 1,350: $807.17

I hope you really enjoy talking on the phone if you want to pay that much. I <3 Apple and the iPod and I would love to have an iPhone, but I can’t spend that kinda cash.Unless I get to try out another phone from a friendly PR company. :)

Adobe’s Video Workshop

I stumbled upon a priceless tutorial resource last week. Adobe has a video training site for all of their products with flash video tutorials. I watched a couple Photoshop videos and they look very well done. There are tutorials for the Creative Suite of products {Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, etc} .

Also, another spot I’ve watched some great Photoshop tutorials from is Radiant Vista. I’ve learned a great deal from watching tutorials at this site. They also have podcasts and critiques.

I found the Adobe site when I was researching about Lightroom features. I also found Chris Orwig’s Lightroom In Focus site which has a few videos of Lightroom features and shows some great tools for photographe

Nasal Clensing Pot or Nose Bidet as I like to call it

My web traffic took a huge spike a couple weeks ago after my posting on the “nose bidet” or Neti Pot. A Canadian online health store, Aviva.ca, contacted me and since I’d been unable to find a neti pot at any of my local drug stores offered me one to try out. Great offer, and I wanted to try it, so I said sure. I’ve been using Sinus Rinse for the past few weeks, which uses a squeeze bottle technique, and wanted to try a true neti pot.

This week, I got my shipment from Aviva.ca. I had chosen one of their several models of Neti Pots. I was also suprised to receive a great deal more than just the Neti Pot. The box contained a shaker bottle commonly used for mixing powdered health drinks. I also received a bunch of health food supplements and informational product brochures.

The Neti pot itself it very nicely made - a solid ceramic pot, nice enough that you’d think it was something to put with your kitchen dishes. And as expected, the pot worked great. I used a slight saline rinse to wash my sinuses. Since it only uses the gravity flow of the water, it’s less pressure than the squeeze bottle products. A little bit of practise to adjust the angle of my head and the water poured straight through.

If you have sinus and allergy problems and find allergy medicine doesn’t work very well for you, you might want to give a Neti pot a try. And if you’re looking for a place to buy it, Aviva.ca has a selection of a few to choose from.

contact 2007 - toronto subway

My photos made it in as part of the Contact Photography Festival. As part of the Contact Photography Festival, they show the photos from one Toronto photographer each day. The photos were shown on the Toronto subway on Thursday, May 31. I took a ride for one stop on the subway so I could get these photos as proof.
